What Are Georgia Jobs Credits?
Georgia has two job credits that can be claimed simultaneously, the Georgia Job Tax Credit and the Georgia Quality Jobs Tax Credit. The Georgia Job Tax Credit reduces your corporate tax liability through a tax credit of up to $4,000 per year (for 5 years) for each new employee you hire. Depending on where your business is located the credit can also lower your payroll withholding obligations. If you are paying new employees at least 10% above the average wage in the county your company is located, you may qualify for the Georgia Quality Jobs Tax Credit. Under this credit, you can receive up to $5,000 per new employee for 5 years. These credits can be claimed simultaneously, enabling you to claim up to $9,000 per new employee for 5 years!
